#20170704 - Diploma 2nd year in Mechanical Engineering near Tiruvallur

This student is pursuing a diploma in Mechanical Engineering at a polytechnic institute near Tiruvallur. His father is a weaver and earns about Rs.1,300 to Rs.1,500 as weekly wages. His mother also works as a helper and earns about Rs. 300 per week.

The student and his elder sister have completed their schooling from a government school nearby and seek to improve their chances for fair employment by taking up higher education.

The sister is pursuing a B.Com programme from a government college.

The student’s father needed medical treatment for six months due to backache and could not pay the fees for his son’s polytechnic education. The student worked in Chennai as a water can delivery boy for a couple of months, where he saved Rs. 6,000 toward his institute fees. He needs Rs.30,000 more for his fees.

He was referred to Aalayam by another beneficiary’s mother. Aalayam has approved this cause for fundraising.
